Dr. Weina Li Chen is an Associate Professor and program leader of Bilingual Education at the University of Massachusetts Global. She has years of experience in the field of bilingual education as a Mandarin teacher, teacher educator in TESOL and bilingual education, researcher, and advocate. Her work spans K-12 schools, higher education, community programs, and nonprofit settings, with a focus on preparing and supporting bilingual educators. Dr. Chen’s scholarship and practice center on bilingual and multilingual teacher preparation, continuous professional development, learning technologies, and learning design. Recently, she has led the development of Mandarin and Spanish Bilingual Authorization programs and MA in Bilingual Education at the University of Massachusetts Global. She enjoys presenting her research and professional practices at variers education conferences, both nationally and internationally.
